About The Author
My name is Meryl. I grew up in Alabama, yet I have lived in Tennessee, Illinois, and Kansas. Some say that I’m becoming a Midwesterner, but I’m a Southern girl at heart. I have always enjoyed writing poetry, and thanks to the prompting of some co-workers, I’m finally pursuing publication. This blog is just a sampling of my work. I hope you enjoy it!
I also write poems, monologues, dramatic readings, responsive readings, and prayers for corporate worship services. I am currently exploring life as a freelance writer. If you would like to contact me about writing a piece, please email me at herr.meryl@gmail.com.

Coincidentally, I have a sister named Meryl who is also a writer. One of my sister’s earliest writings (written in early elementary school) was the narration of her childhood. My favorite line was “And then on my 2nd birthday I received a gift that I couldn’t send back…” I was born the day before her 2nd birthday, but my parents assure me that she was speaking of something else.
meryl, when i feel a little funk and i need a pick-me up i take time and read one or two of your writings. thye are so very good and so up-lifting. so keep up the good work by letting GOD use you. love you and neal and your family. john kennedy
